In October, we celebrated European Day of Languages! This is a yearly celebration that gives us opportunity to study the languages and cultural diversities of other European countries.
Although we learn Spanish in our Modern Foreign Languages lessons, for this day we focussed on some of the other European countries such as France, Italy and Germany. We had great fun learning simple phrases, researching cities and their cultural backgrounds, creating art in the style of famous European artists, dancing, singing, baking and food tasting!
There are 24 official spoken languages in Europe, but just learning one of them has proven to be extremely beneficial in teaching tolerance, understanding and the confidence to travel the world and explore other people’s ways of living.
