At CHPA home learning activities are set to support and develop the knowledge, skills understanding and interests of pupils. However, we appreciate that children have very busy lives and undertake many different activities outside of CHPA life, which provide them with a huge number of opportunities, achievements and experiences.
On a weekly basis pupils will be expected to complete the following;
On occasions, other home learning activities, to support specific learning may be required.
Pupils across CHPA, will have the opportunity to undertake booster sessions to support the development of their English and Maths knowledge, skills and understanding. You will be informed when these are timetabled to take place.
To support home & remote learning, every pupil has log-in details for a number of apps and websites, including White Rose Maths, Times Table Rockstars & Numbots for Maths. In English, they have access to Monster Phonics.
Additionally, should the need arise, there is capacity for pupils to access learning via Student Sharepoint as all pupils have individual email addresses.
All pupils are provided with a Pupil Learning Diary. It has been designed to help pupils be independent with their learning at CHPA, support families with pupil’s learning at home, keeping you informed about the reading pupils complete at CHPA. When it’s not being used, please remind your child to bring their Diary every day, so it is always available. It will be filled in by pupils when they read independently and by every adult who hears the child read.
Teachers will regularly check the diary as a communication tool. There is no expectation to complete the Diary when a pupil has read at home.
